Navegador

Navegador is GPS enabled application that collects real time information from many GPS models and provides an easy and compact navigation solution. Navegagor understands most of the GPS protocols available today, including the Zodiac binary protocol (used by DeLorme units), the Garmin proprietary protocol, and the standard NMEA 183 protocol. The information is divided in six main displays:

NOTE: the screens and information below refer the older 1.0.1 version.

Info The Info display showing information from an Earthmate GPS. On the upper right the "3D" indicates the type of the current fix, and it can also be seen that 5 satelites are beeing used. Navigation and accuracy information are also shown.
The Sats display for the same fix shown above. Here we see that the 3D fix is acquired from satelites 01, 13, 02, 22 and 27. Satelite 04 is also beeing tracked, but is not used on the solution. The bars show the signal strengths. The two circles represent the sky with the satellite positions, where the greater circle is the horizon and the center is the zenith. Sats
Map The Map display showing a saved track (in green), some stored waypoints and the active track (in blue). On the bottom the scale shows that 1/4 of the screen width corresponds to 5km. On the bottom right some controls allow you to change the zoom level and center the map.
The Points display allows you to manage a list of waypoints. Waypoints can be shown on the map and can also be "tracked" by using the Goto function. Waypoints can be exported to or imported from Garmin units. Points
Edit Point Each waypoint can be assigned a name, a graphical symbol, an optional comment, and of course position and elevation acquired from the GPS.
There are dozens of different graphical symbols to choose from. The symbols are compatible with Garmin units, so that the same symbol is shown on the unit and on Navegador. Symbols
Tracks The Tracks display showing the number of points collected on the current (active) track, and the previously stored tracks. The "notebook" icon the the upper right indicates that Navegador is currently recording a track. The reduce function allows you to reduce the number of points on a track, while preserving the overall shape.
The Computer display showing the current trip statistics. Based on the movement information from the GPS, Navegador computes stopped/moving time, keeps track of the distance and average/maximum speeds. Computer
